Maintenance on the Uiver

Maintenance on the Uiver

English translation below.

The replica of the Uiver, the only flying DC-2 in the world, during the winter maintenance in the hangar of the Aviodrome in Lelystad.

In 1999, a foundation bought this DC-2 and it is now installed in a semi-permanent exhibition at Lelystad Airport. It was one of the five remaining DC-2’s and the only one flight worthy. The aircraft also got the old name and color scheme of the first Uiver back. The original registration PH-AJU was also applied to the device, although officially registered in the U.S. civil registry under the registration NC39165. Officially making such misleading registration features is forbidden, but the Inspectorate has made an exception for this historic unit. This aircraft had its landing gear collapsed on July 9, 2005 when taxiing on naval airfield Den Helder. Thereafter, the device was completel
